95 Alumina Ceramic Performance Parameter Interpretation

95% alumina ceramic is a high-performance engineering ceramic with α-alumina as the main crystalline phase. The "95%" refers to the mass fraction of alumina, while the remaining 5% consists of sintering aids such as silica and magnesium oxide added to optimize performance. This formulation achieves an optimal balance between cost and performance, making it one of the most widely used structural ceramics in industrial applications.

1. Mechanical Properties

Ultra-high hardness: Mohs hardness of 9, second only to diamond, with excellent wear resistance.

High compressive strength (>2000 MPa), but relatively high brittleness and moderate impact resistance.

Outstanding rigidity: Elastic modulus of approximately 300 GPa, ensuring minimal deformation.


2. Thermal Properties

Excellent high-temperature resistance: Long-term service temperature up to 1600℃.

Low thermal expansion coefficient (approximately 8×10⁻⁶/℃), offering good thermal stability.

Moderate thermal conductivity (around 20 W/m·K), providing certain heat transfer capability.


3. Electrical Properties

Superior insulation performance: Room-temperature resistivity >10¹⁴ Ω·cm.

Low high-frequency loss, ideal for radio frequency (RF) devices.


4. Chemical Properties

Exceptional chemical stability: Resistant to acid and alkali corrosion (except hydrofluoric acid).

No reaction with most metal solutions, featuring strong oxidation resistance.
